Aval (Pooha) Upma - Ingredients:

Urad dal I tsp
mustard seeds 1tsp
Chana dal  2 tsp
Onion  1
Lemon juice 1 tbsp
shredded coconut  2 cups
Turmeric powder  2 tsp
Ginger  5 gms
Aval(Pooha )   750 gms
Jeera  1 tsp
Chilli powder  4 tsp
Green chillies  2
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves a few
Curry leaves a few
Aval (Pooha) Upma - Directions:
  1. Soak the aval for about 3 minutes and strain water .

  2. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds

  3. Add some jeera and the dal, ginger and green chillies

  4. Then add the onions and fry them till they become golden brown

  5. Then add the pooha and add little oil, and add the turmeric powder, salt and chilli powder .

  6. Add the curry leaves, and mix them well

  7. Add the lemon juice, the shredded coconut and coriander leaves

  8. Serve them hot.
