Coriander-Cabbage Vada - Ingredients:

finely chopped cabbage 1/2 cup 
chopped coriander leaves 3 tsp 
red chillies 4 
tamarind extract 1/4 tsp
coriander seeds 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying
asafoetida A pinch 
toor dal 1/4 cup 
rice flour 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Coriander-Cabbage Vada - Directions:
  1. Soak dal and rice in water for about 30mins.

  2. Heat oil, add asafoetida, coriander seeds. Grind them along with dal, rice, tamarind, chillies and salt. Add very little water if required (The paste should be of thick chutney consistency).

  3. Mix the paste with cabbage and coriander leaves.

  4. Heat tava and spread some oil. Make small balls from the mixture, slightly flatten them. Shallow fry on a medium flame till they are done. Serve hot.
