Erissery - Ingredients:

Split red gram1/4 cup
Pumpkin finely chopped 250 gm.

Grind to coarse powder
Coconut grated 1/2 cup
Dry  red chilli 1 1/2
Cumin(jeera) 1/2 tbsp
Garlic(lasan) cloves 3

Salt to taste

For tampering

Refined oil 2 1/2 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tbsp
Dry red chillies 2
Curry leaves a sprig.
Butter onions chopped 1 1/2 tbsp

Erissery - Directions:
  1. Boil the red gram and pumpkin in enough water to cover.

  2. Drain and when cool,mash the mix with awooden ladle till almost smooth.

  3. To the mashed mixture,add the coarse powder and salt and mix well.Bring the mixture to boil.Remove from heat.

  4. For tampering heat the oil in a pan and fry the ingredents mentioned and add to the mixture.

  5. Serve hot.
